Maxtor Central Axis 1TB Constantly Blips the Disc light every 2 seconds

My Central Axis drive is constantly blinking the disc access light every 2 to 3 seconds and I can hear a clunk like the drive is seeking.  Backups are OK, Files are OK, everything else seems OK. I tried disconnecting the network cable after disabling Web access and making sure none of my computers were logged into the drive.  I tried rebooting the drive and this also does not help.  I have the sleep setting at 15 minutes, but with this unexplained access of the drive, it never gets to sleep.

Any ideas?

The sleep function doesn't work.  Try going into the admin page and check the drives health.

Thanks, tried that earlier.  Drive is fine, but for some reason the disc is accessed constantly even with no connections.

Which mode are you using?  Raid 0(linear) or Raid 1(mirror)?  What happen if you unplug the network cable?  If yours was configured as raid 1, it is likely that the unit is reconciling between the two disks, although it is very unlikely, but possible.
