Maxtor Central Axis - problems connecting user account

Hi, I have upgraded my Shared Storage II (2 TB) to Central Axis software & firmware.

When I open Maxtor Manager, it finds the drive but there is nothing indicated in "Mounted Share" and "Drive" column (I have only host name, IP address and MAC address indicated).

When I try to use the buttons "Create a User Account" or "Connect to a User Account", I am in both cases getting the following message:

"You can connect only one Central Axis user account at a time on one computer. Remove all Central Axis folders on this system, Right-click on your desktop Central Axis icon, select "Disconnect", and delete this icon. (1219)"

I have no idea what should I do. I have no Central Axis icon on the desktop and no idea where to search for Central Axis folders "on this system".
What password should I use to Connect to a User Account? The one given to User Account in previous step?

Did you ever get an answer?  I just bought a Central Axis and i am getting the same message.  Yesterday i could not connect to it at all, kept telling me that the password was wrong for the user account..

Hi MeAndMine,

 

I worked out what may be wrong with your system; the Username is "admin", not the name you gave the disk (or the one it suggested itself - MCA something). If you enter admin as username, and the password you gave, I think you'll be able to get in touch with the darn thing again.

 

I also think I have worked out what the error message above means, namely that Windows Explorer can see the Maxtor Central Axis, and that isn't allowed (because it is then already logged on there before you try to log it on via the Maxtor software). But I can't work out how to solve that because no "disconnect" options appear when I right-click on the icons in Explorer.

 

I hope my tip can help you a little, and that someone else has an idea with my problem,

Conserning the problem log on a useracount, i have the same probs. I try to start my pc in safe mode, and then log on, it wors, then restart your pc, and then you are logged on, and all working.
