Maxtor Shared Storage™ II 1TB Single Drive access ok, management fail???

Hi there

I own a Maxtor Shared Storage II 1TB Single Drive. It is connected to a router and in use. That means, I can create and access files and directories from different computers, all perfectly and with great performance!!!

When I use the management software it tells me often "no drive ..." and sometimes it can connect. When I choose "create account" it runs in a database failure. When I choose quick view, I get sometimes different numbers (correct), but very often only the message "1000 MB free" (what is wrong!).

The creation try of the energy saving mode runs into in error, also the maintenance programs return errors during start (I cannot use them).

How can I solve this behavior??? What is wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help

Re: Maxtor Shared Storage™ II 1TB Single Drive access ok, management fail???

I was asked by the seagate support for some details:

S/N is 2DD11F5K

What is a Model No??? Maybe it is:

2DD11F5K

E-D011-03-3378(B)

EDA: 9NE5AR-500

Firmware of the drive is 3.1.28

Also, i can access the drive during a running file copy operation quite regulary. Another node in the network without current traffic is not able to connect. A second drive (Maxtor Shared StorageT II 2TB Dual) which I get some days ago reacts perfectly.

Thanks
