I Have just purchased a Macbook and would like to connect to my 300Gb Maxtor Shared Storage Drive.

Following thw link for the drivers (said both Window & Mac)

Instructions say download .iso file to Mac desktop and then double click to unpack.

Procedure

Instructions for Macintosh:

1. Download the file MSS+_QS_20297801.iso file to your Mac desktop
2. Double click on the MSS+_QS_20297801.iso image to open and install the Quick Start program

This creates a folder, but I cannot see a Mac install file only a Windows  .exe file

Any suggestions of how to get a Mac driver please?

Mac OS X 10.7.1

2 GHz  Intel Core i7

4GB  1333  MHz DDR3

I burned the .iso file to CD

After, install Quick Start.pkg and reboot....   and clicking  Quick Start app………………..I get the following message

You can't open the application Quick Start.app because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.

My system is …………..

Sorry, the Maxtor Shared Storage Drive isn't supported with your new Mac OS.

i'm in the same boat as the original poster.  new to mac (my previous pc laptop died, completely wiped out) and am trying to access my photos and music, all stored on my maxtor NAS shared storage.  i got the same errors as the original poster.

is there any work around or ways to access my files on the maxtor NAS?  i'm completely lost!
