Firmware 0061hpm1 for ST9500420AS

Need Firmware version 0061hpm1 for ST9500420AS Manufactured 8/2011. The sticker on my hard drive says the firmware is 0061hpm1 but seatools and other programs report it has firmware 0005SDM1

That's odd.

Someone did a force flash to 0005SDM1 ? (the 0005SDM1 firmware can be found on the Dell site, I've used it to update a drive a couple of days ago from 0002SDM1).

 

For 7200.4 Momentus drives, 0001SDM1 and 0002SDM1 will update to 0005SDM1; 0003SDM1 will update to 0004SDM1.

 

However, I believe that your HP-branded drive should have the HP-released firmware on it (the one written on the sticker, 0061HPM1). I don't know where can you find that one....

Maybe you should just leave it with 0005SDM1 if it works fine (it corrected several problems with previous ones). I believe that the HP-firmware is the HP-correspondent to 0001SDM1, which HAS problems. Maybe that's why someone force-flashed to 0005SDM1.
