Important note - This update is only accessible for non-OEM drives. Unless you bought your Momentus XT drive retail, the update will most probably not work. Contact your OEM for more information on any firmware updates.
Hi pinchia- when did you purchase your Momentus XT? Shoot me the serial number if you have it. Your drive may already have the new firmware and that's why you're getting this message. I can find out for sure with a serial number. Thanks.
Used the bootable disc method to install the update on my SD22 firmware Momentus that was in my PS3, I was getting some bad spin-down randomly, on all games - hopefully will have some time to play tomorrow to see if its gotten better
I think there was some misunderstanding, sorry about that. I think you might be on the right track with the comment about Barracuda 7200.11/12 revisions.
The fw update IS available and it should work fine as long as the Mom XT drive is not OEM. If you experience problems, you might try updating it in a desktop PC.
