Just got the drive in today ST750LX003. I've got the original Windows 7 Pro install on DVD, it spins up and the drive is identified. I can
There's no BSOD, it just doesn't seem to run the format. Any thoughts? I'll get Seatools running later tonight once I find my stash of empty CDs. The system I'm installing this in is Dell Studio 1458 from late 2010.

Set your bios to AHCi
Unplug and usb devices
Check connection to and from the drive
Delete any partitions, quick format
Should set up ok then,

I got it working. I had to use SP1 of Windows 7 to get it to work. Two different Windows 7 RCs versions wouldn't do it.

hey hi, can u tell me how's the performance of the disk i recently buy one but i feel the momentus ST750LX003 sata3 slow compared to a 3.5 sata 2 hdd.
There are problems if you make a partition in the disk?
How many times need access the file, to copy the files into the ssd ?
why if both disk are mecanic and 7200 rpm? 3.5 is faster than 2.5
im really disapointed, with my disk at this time

You can't have it set up correctly if the older drive is faster.
Make sure the bios is set to AHCi or Raid depending on how you want to use the drive.
Don't use a clone of an eisting O/S, it will be lacking over a fresh install
Get the latest drivers and Intel RST if it's an Intel PC
To give you some sort of idea it should boot from post to Windows in anything from 20 seconds to 45 seconds each time, but this will need a sata III mb and the disk needs to be on the sata III port that isn't the Marvell one.
