Momentus XT Blog post

[ Edited ]

Hey,

I stumbled upon this blog post regarding the new MXT, and after watching the great video, I have questions. There is no mention on the number of repetition made before the recording, we all know that the MXT need a little bit of time to "learn". Also, on the application launch test, I'd like to know the total amount of data read. Finally, I was wondering why there was no comparison to a conventional 7200 RPM HD. Is it possible to post some of this information?

Thank you in advance,

Klok

edit: Seagate Youtube channel contain the comparison, but still no methodology

A similar video was in one of the review links previously posted.

There is no compare to the 7,200 conventional because... that is a foregone conclusion.

Suffice to say my old 7200 RPM was barely waking up on a single core machine in 1 minute booting.

On the unconditioned XT2 and XT drives, I am running a fraction of that.

Re: Momentus XT Blog post

Yes, I'm aware that we all know the result of the test, but at the same time they did compare it with a standard 5400 RPM. I think that i would have been a bit more appropriate to compare it with a 7200 RPM, as people with 5400 RPM HDD might think more about upgrading it to a 7200 RPM than the "SSHD". Again, just an opinion.
