Online Armor and Momentus XT

[ Edited ]

They dont like each other. New Drive, freezing just like other describe.

Note that I made an error in the original post. It was Online Armor that was causing the problem not Adaware. Sorry for the error.

Anyway, after disabling Online Armor everything ran perfectly for the rest of the day. I am still trying to figure using the tools built into Online Armor what exactly it is doing that the Momentus 750 Gig Drive does not like. It was certainly fantastic to at least get the computer to run reliably after several days of tearing my hair out.

Again, apologies for the error.

Immediate suspect is a root kit.

Re: Online Armor and Momentus XT

thanks for that thought.

Done some thorough checking and no root kits. I have to observe that I have been very careful over a very long time with my systems because they have absolutely critical stuff on them. No root kits and since I got rid of Online Armor no issues over several days either.

I initially thought it was a Seagate Drive issue so I am very relieved that it is not.

Re: Online Armor and Momentus XT

You have identified the immediate cause --- now the question is what is Online Armor doing.
