Hi all!
I'm having a big problem and I hope to get some help. Thanks in advance!
I'm kind of a newbie in tech related stuff, so excuse my ignorance.
I have a Asus G73SW since like February and everything was fine until some time ago (3/4 weeks). I started getting some freezes while gaming, breaks and lag, framedrops, appeared from nothing I checked everything, every driver and so and couldn't correct it... So I did a clean install Windows and formatted everything. I installed all the drivers, everything perfectly and for a while everything was great.
But the problem started again. I checked everything again, the drivers, latency, etc. No show. After reading threads and posts, one after another, I got to this problem and this forums. I read that the firmware might be a problem for this Momentus XT drives (ST95005620AS), so I checked and mine had the SD22 firmware.
I read that some users got past the freezing issues by updating the firmware. So I did it... But that was not the best idea because I updated to the SD25 version. I should have read before.. Now I know it has many problems.
But while with the SD25 firmware, the freezing had stopped, it was great while playing. But then I had the fantastic idea to update to the last firmware, this one, SD28. And you know the rest of the history I guess... Now the freezing is back.
I should have updated directly from the SD22 to the SD28, without trying the SD25.
I need some advice to correct this issue. I read about force flahing again to SD28, but I don't know how to do all that stuff. I don't want to commit any errors, so some help would be apreciated.
I will need to format both drives right? And do a clean install of Windows? I have no problem with that. Just want to have this running perfectly.
Other than the freezing issue, and some audio loops, everything is fine. I ran HDTune and it tells me everything is good with the hard drives.
Sorry for my poor english.
Cheers.
