Hi, I got a HP Laptop that is currently running on Windows 32 bit, with 4GB RAM, AMD Turion x2 Dual Core Processor.
I recently bought the Momentus XT (ST95005620AS) drive replacing the one from my laptop (Upgrading to a better HDD).
I have downloaded the firmware update from Seagate which was the SD 24 one. When I ran the update, it restarted and the Seagate Firmware booted up, after it finish scanning for my drive, it said 'Unable to execute program. Click Enter to Proceed...'
Also I've downloaded the ISO but it did not work.
Please tell what's the problem.

Hay Philip Starting to think this may very well be my last Seagate drive you get absolutely no support here. I also have a problem maybe you can help where are the instruction for upgrading the firmware, and how do you use the Drive Detect software to check for the firmware version. Thanks

Curt31,
Have you tried contacting Support? Please remember that this is an online community where many of the responses come from other users, such as yourself. The forum is not a replacement for Customer Service. Seagate representative do from time to time come to lend a hand answering posts but not necessarily on a continual or frequent basis. If you have immediate needs, your best bet is to contact Customer Service directly whether by phone, email, or chat.
Thanks.

Hello:
My computer is a desktop with an Asus M4A785-M motherboard with 8 gb memory and Windows 7 64 bit. I bought a Seagate Momentus XT ST95005620AS with SD23 firmware on Wednesday. I tried to update the firmware like 10 times in different ways. I tried before cloning, using different SATA port also using the bootable CD with the same result 'Unable to execute program. Click Enter to Proceed...'. Finally today I went to the SATA configuration in the bios and changed from AHCI (that in my case is faster) to IDE, then started the computer again and after a couple of reboots (After the change the computer detects the change some drivers change including the hard drives), Tried the firmware upgrade again and it worked!. Once the computer restarted with the new firmware I changed the SATA configuration back to AHCI. Beware, if your computer was never in AHCI mode and you change to IDE your computer may not boot, but if you change it back in the bios to IDE, it gets fixed. I hope this helps.

Thanks Alan, only hing is I bought it because I got such a good deal and won't be installing it until I decide on a i5 laptop. So if I call support the timer starts, just want to check it out and see if it needed the upgrade and if so install the firmware. Currently it's sitting in a dock very quite and runs really cool at least just setting in the dock. So can you just answer a few questions can I perform these things from a hard drive dock. Thanks for your help.
