HI, I NEED HELP TO UNLOCK ATA PASSWORD ON MY ST960812A. I TRY LOW LEVEL FORMAT BUT HD IS LOCKED AND IT 'S STOPS ANY HD ACCESS.I TRY MHDD BUT IT REQUIRE OLD PASSWORD AND IT'S FAILS. I TRY FIRMWARE UPDATE FILES ON HDD GURU BUT IT RETURN "HD DOESN'T SUPPORT". I TRY HDD UNLOCK BUT DOESN'T SUPPORT MY DEVICE. THANKS.
The fact that you attempted a low level format would suggest that your data are not important. If so, and if your drive's master password has not been changed, then an ATA secure erase may recover your drive.
