System Win 7 home premium 64 bit .Replica (costco) pn 9ZH9P9-RAA. Drive suspended backup because it was filled. Since computer was working I reformatted backup drive. Since then unit refuses to connect. Tried using Seatools for windows but received message "Fatal error device discovery provider load failure void. throw with extended info (system.management.management status"

Re: 1TB replica external drive will not connect after reformatting

When you format the drive because it's full, you will also need to uninstall/reinstall the software. (you can contact support for a download or see if it is available from the website, it is NOT the version of replica that was used with the old replica drives...that version won't work..)

Also, before doing the install, check the services in your computer to help prevent the problem from occurring again.

Follow this article:

http://knowledge.seagate.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/210571en/?q=replica+full&language=en_US&fs=Search&pn...

once they are set correctly, reinstall the software and resume your backup.

To all users: If your data is stored ONLY on an external hard drive, then it is NOT a backup. A BACKUP is having the data stored in TWO or MORE locations. If it is only in ONE location, you don't have a backup at all. If the data is important to you, then have it stored in multiple locations to prevent data loss.
