9sf2a8-500 2tb external broken usb

the usb has broken off the board and i need to know my opinions. I looked at returning it but have heard nothing but bad things. i looked into a new enclosure but am not sure what kind i need to look for. Am I missing something? I just want to avoid paying the same price for the fix as to get a new one

Contact seagate support...they might have a solution for you on this one.

 

Trust me. >_< Doooo eeeeet.

To all users: If your data is stored ONLY on an external hard drive, then it is NOT a backup. A BACKUP is having the data stored in TWO or MORE locations. If it is only in ONE location, you don't have a backup at all. If the data is important to you, then have it stored in multiple locations to prevent data loss.
