Back-up dual-booted computer. How?

I am trying to use my Maxtor OneTouch Plus to serve as additional storage space on my Macbook Pro with Leapord 10.5 and Windows XP Pro SP2 installed on it. I can get it to work perfectly for either one or the other OS, but when I go to the next it formats the whole drive regardless of how many partitions I have told it to make. Please help me... I'm really confused (and frustrated!!!).

Thanks!

Re: Back-up dual-booted computer. How?

You said the wrong words... extend my hard drive space.
I would NEVER trust an external to save valuable data.
Just check the messages on dead drives.
I would add a HD to your MAC.. then use the external as a backup device.
