Cannot mount on mount on both Mac and Windows

My OneTouch4 Mini 320GB now can be only mount in Windows after I installed Maxtor Manager and reformat it by the Maxtor Manager.
I remember the first day I tried it in factory setting it can be mount in both PC and Mac.
I have tried so many times to reformat it in PC or Mac, its only can be mount on the OS who format it.
I just want to format it into NTFS format and can be read only in Mac.
But now its pure NTFS format but can't mount in MAC!
is it possible to format it like the original factory setting?
Please help!

Re: Cannot mount on mount on both Mac and Windows

NTFS is read-only in Mac.

Re: Cannot mount on mount on both Mac and Windows

Hi,

I had a quick followup question.  So I have my Onetouch 4 drive formatted NTFS.  I wanted to copy some files over to my Mac (OSX 10.4.11).  I read that document that talks about transferring between 2 systems.

In that document it says that NTFS is read only under Mac OSX.  But also in the same document in the Windows to Mac section it says "Do not use NTFS formatted drives".  That is somewhat confusing.  I did try to plug my NTFS drive into my Mac and the Mac did not see the drive.  And then when I put the drive back into my Windows machine it would not show up there either.  Said the directory was corrupted.

So can a Mac read NTFS or not?  Will it mess up the drive?

Thank you for your help.
