I had laptop with a Windows XP Operating System and I was also using Maxtor One Touch II drive on my old laptop. I now have a new laptop with Windows 7 Professional and I was also having a problem accessing my Maxtor drive on my new laptop until I found a few users who had the same exact problem. What they discovered is that in order to view the drive on the new computer you must 1st connect your drive to your original computer that you were using your drive on and disable your security settings on your One Touch II drive? NOTE: Will see a message “You have disabled security for Maxtor One Touch drive”. You should take your regular steps to disconnect your Maxtor drive from your old computer and attach it to your new one and it should recognize your Maxtor Drive Instantly.
