Dont know how to fix Maxtor Drive IF IT CAN BE fixed?

[ Edited ]

External Drive, in an NexStar 3 case

SEATOOLS shows it as   Maxtor  6L200PO    USB - 1394

Stopped working

Tried everything, tried formattting quickly, would stop and say it wasnt able to continue

Tried to format long version today got as far as about 92% and kicked out again

Have tried Sea Tools and here is the log.

I need to know please IF this can be fixed or whether it has just died for some reason    ;-(

I should add that when I look at it in DISC MANAGMENT it says it is healthy

but shows up as RAW file type

I had it working for some time before

turned it off one day

turned it on a few days later

and nothing would work so tried formatting it, losing all my files, etc

but no longer know what to do or whether it can be fixed...............

Re: Dont know how to fix Maxtor Drive IF IT CAN BE fixed?

The drive fails to pass on a long test because it keeps reporting the Logical Block Addressing are un-repairable

You could try installing the drive directly into the system and using Seatools for Dos and running a Zero fill on the drive.

This may beable to reset all its indicated bad LBA back to factory default. This is a low level format.

Side note, it could be seatools is having problems with the external case giving missleading reports and installing it directly you could format the drive normaly then put it back in the case.
