Exp Ext Drive ST320005EXM101-RK Windows 7 Powers off after around 2 mins - Hibernation is Never

Hi.

I have just bought the Seagate Expansion External Drive 2TB ST320005EXM101-RK, running on Windows 7.

 

It powers off almost immediatey on powering on.

 

I have installed the Seagate.exe product that came with it.  Reset the settings to say NEVER power off.  But the same problem keeps occurring - EVEN when in the middle of copying across the files.

 

 

Anyone got some suggestions?  I get maybe 2-3 mins of activity after powering off and waiting a few minutes.

 

 

SHould I just return it to the shop and advise it is faulty?

Sounds like a faulty unit to me.  I would take it back to the store.
