I'm planning on getting an external hard drive for the two laptops and one computer in my house, as well as my PS3. I'm upgrading the PS3 hard drive to either a 250GB or 320GB hard drive, so i need something to backup the 20GB of info on the existing hard drive. Once i upgrade the hard drive, i won't need the PS3 data on the hard drive any more; it will be used for solely the computers. Here is the external i am looking at:
Model Number: ST310005EXA101-RK
Now i'm wondering about the FAT32/NTFS thing. Which one does this hard drive have? Am i going to have to format it to FAT32 in order to backup my PS3 info, restore it once i upgrade the hard drive, then reformat it to NTFS? What is the best course of action i should take? How can i use it for the PS3, then use it to backup the computers? Is there any reformatting involved?
