Hey guys,
I recently just bought a Seagate Expansion 500gb portable drive, and I'm having trouble with the slow transfer rate of data.
You see, I wanted to transfer about 250gb of data from my computer to this portable hard drive and initially the transfer rate was good (10+mb/s I think it was), but after 24 hours, the rate has slowed to about 1mb/s. This doesn't seem right, so I was wondering if there was any way to speed up the process, with or without stopping this current transfer?
The usb port is 3.0 and do is the usb cord.
It's a windows vista with 4gb of RAM, and a decent processor.
If there is any other information you need concerning this problem, I'd be happy to divulge.
