When I go to connect my hard drive to my computer, the light goes on but the sound the computer makes when a device is connected does not come on for multiple minutes or not at all. The drive whirs and sounds like it's working and occasionally my computer allows me to safely eject it yet I cannot access it or view any of the files on it, which amassed to about 400 GB of data. It also refuses to work on other computers or within my television and set top box. If there is any solution to this problem, it would be great to hear as there is a lot of important data on this drive.
