Formating a Password protected Drive

I have a drive here at work, Maxtor One Touch III that I need to format. It was password protected by the previous employee and never gave us the password. I do not care about the data, just care about reusing the drive. I have tried, Windows XP, VIsta and MAC OSX and none are successful. On the Vista machine it recognizes the drive, but requires for me to initiate it before formating. I try to initiate but gives me an error about drive being write protected. In XP it does not recognize the drive in Disk Manager and in MAC OSX, the Maxtor drive manager appears asking me for the password or security question before mounting the drive. Within the disk utility it does not recognize it either. Any idea or tool that I can use to format this drive and be able to reuse it?  Thanks again
