HELP: Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini 320 GB all of sudden is sometimes recognized sometimes not

I've been using Maxtor OneTouch Mini 320 GB (PN: 9NU2AY-501) for about 5 months without any problems with my 2 laptops (Windows XP Pro and Mac OS 10.5.8).

It has 2 partitions: one with Mac file system and another with FAT32.

Then I didn't use it for about 3 days, and it started to acting up. It was not recognized in both Windows and Mac.

So last night I restarted Windows and Mac. Windows recognized it but after I stopped and unplugged it, and then plugged it into Mac, the Mac didn't recognize it.

I plugged it into the Windows and it was recognized. Then I unplugged it without stopping it. Plug it in Ma and Mac recognized it.

But after I ejected it from Mac, both Windows and Mac didn't recognize it again.

I tried it again this morning, but only Windows recognized it but it didn't recognized after I unplugged and plugged it again.

Please help. I'm so confused and need to use it.
