As the first message stated, the warranty is irrelevant.
The reason Seagate support will not post instructions requested is that they are pushing data recovery services and no longer are willing to answer simple questions that would save the money of those who bought these units.
The drive I have never had any problems until the circuit board failed.
There is no reason to believe the drive itself has any problems.
I could easily move the drive to another USB enclosure if I could remove it without damaging it.
(I also installed SeaTools for Windows which was unable to detect the USB drive).
Please answer our question.
