Max OT4 how to delete history of previously backedup data

Hi All.................. This is my first post on this forum.  I hope someone can help me.

I have a Maxtor OT4, 500 Gbs and my PC runs Windows Vista Home Prem.

My question is how can I recover space on the OT4 drive by deleting previous history of backed up data that is now 'out of date'. I need more space on the external drive - I don't want to reformat it nor lose the back up software.

I just want to be able to start again from about 2 months ago with lots of 'space'

I hope I have explained clearly what my problem is.    My thanks in advance for any solutions

Re: Max OT4 how to delete history of previously backedup data

Please review these first:

Seagate and Maxtor Manager: What is the History folder and what if I delete it?[212691]

Where can I find my backup files?[212797]

What I would do is find the most current version of my files, copy them into a separate folder that I can be sure is not easily confused with the history folders.  Then delete the history folders.

Give a hoot. Backup your data on a second storage media.
