Maxtor 3200 -- Barracuda 7200.10 320 Gbytes

[ Edited ]
I lost two hard drives on two different computers last week.  When I plugged in my Maxtor 3200 to the new hard drive, it would not power up.  I tried a different power supply on exactly the same model and it still will not power up.  So I cracked open the case and now have the hard drive out.  My thought was to put it into an old computer and transfer the files to another external drive BUT I seriously don't know what I am doing!  HELP!

If your drive has a 40-pin, 2-row interface connector, then see the ATA Installation information on the following page.

Internal Installation Basics:

Do the following photos look like your setup?

I would ask a techie friend... it's nothing for them to do this... maybe a pizza and beer as a thanks ?
