I've had this a for a couple of years now, and it's always worked perfectly fine until last week, when it stopped mounting for some reason. Disk Utility can't find it either, so it's not like I can even attempt to repair the disk or anything. I always eject it before turning it off, so I can't see it being damaged. It turns on fine, spins, green light, yaddayaddayadda, but... then nothing; it's like it's not there as far as my computer's concerned.
I've tired the whole power down, unplug everything, wait X-amount of minutes, plug keyboard, mouse and external back in; nothing. Tried different USB ports; nothing.
So I'm at a total lost and any help will be so welcomed. My life is on this thing. Seriously.
Mac info is thus (don't know what is needed, and what isn't... so have all of it!):
Mac OS X Version 10.5.8
Processor: 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 1GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
