Maxtor Basics power down mode.

Win XP 32

How can i disable it?

It is still visible under system but it has RPM = 0.0.

It goes into standby or some kind of power saving just after couple of minutes of non usage.

I have problem with this hard drive.

I have Maxtor Basics 1TB on usb 2.0 with software Sx81.

Re: Maxtor Basics power down mode.

Right-click on My Computer | Manage | Device Manager | Universal Serial Bus Controllers | double-click on the 1st Root Hub | go to the Power tab | see if the drive is connected to it.  If not, try the next Root Hub.
If so, click the Power Management tab.
Uncheck the box that says: "allow computer to turn off this device to save power".
