Maxtor Hardrive Access Denied

I havbe a 500gb Maxtor external hardrive and have used it on three computers. The first two worked fine, but when I bought it over to my new computer when I tried to access the folders and songs I got a 'G:// access denied' message. I have fiddled around with the properties and just can't work out whats wrong, its definately not the cables.

Thanks, but that doesnt help.

 

 

I'm on windows vista not Xp.
