HELP PLEASE!!!!
I have a Maxtor one touch 4 1 terabyte drive which was working flawlessly for about a year now. I recently started having trouble with it when I had it connected to an laptop running xp. I was burning a dvd which used ot take 5-10 minutes and now took hours and then crashed. Now when I hook it up to my laptop it sometimes recognizes it and the autoplay starts up. When Autoplay is running I see that it is recognizing the various folers I crated however it seems to run forever. As far as I can recall I had approximately 300gb used up. Sometimes I'm able to open Explorer and see the folders. I'm able to go into one of the folder but then Im not able to go further. Ie MY_TERA_DRIVE > MY_PHOTOS...can go further...error message 'not responding'???
I opened the Maxtor casing incase it was the usb connection and have it hooked up directly to an external usb 2.0 sata adaptor. This drive has my entire life on it. All of my kids pics and since birth etc and I absolutely need to recover it.
Can anyone possibly help? I would be forever gratefull?
