My external HD was working fine, started to make some annoying noise and suddenly when i try to open the unit will ask me to format. When i check the device manager it won't show there and if i check properties comes up 0.0 bytes.

Is there a way to fix this? Help?

It could be that your drive is affected by the 7200.11 "0 LBA" problem.

How do either of the following utilities see your drive?
