First off, I have a Seagate Portable External Drive - 250GB...I'm not exactly sure what the serial number is..there's a bunch of numbers on the back but none of them are clearly labeled serial number.
Anyways, I was unable to open one of the folders, kept getting the "disk in drive g is not formatted.." error. After a week or so, I decided to just completely reformat the whole drive and start over. When I attempted to do this, I got the "windows cannot format..." error. I found a post in this forum regarding how to use diskwizard. I installed diskwizard and proceeded to use the "add new disc" portion of the program...I went through the whole process...very simple actually though some of the instructions provided in the post were not even options given by diskwizard. I just assumed the post was from an older version of diskwizard. Anyways, once the whole process was done, I restarted my computer and my G drive (which was my external hard drive) was gone. I tried unplugging and plugging back in my external drive and nothing...I went into disk management and it's gone from there too...I'm not sure what I screwed up but now I just need help in fixing it.
Thanks!
