Well, you can do what I did and give it a one star review at amazon:
I'll hit newegg and post the same review tomorrow.

Ok I find the solution remove the PC and reinstall the whole software again. Than you wont see this messages. But it will stop backing up automatically now you can schedule backup through Windows.

my prior ID and screen named were banned, I assume for posting the review on amazon that gave the product one star because of this bug. I guess Seagate didn't like the truth getting out.
No, I'm sorry, there must be a misunderstanding. We did not ban you, but perhaps there was some sort of glitch with our email address-recognition software.
I can assure you that if we banned you for a post like that, we would've removed the post too. ;-) (That's a bit of a joke, please understand.)
Could you try clearing the cache on your Internet browser? Here's an explanation from a third-party source. Then try logging in again.
Also, is there any chance you could try logging in from a different computer?

You're right, I cleared the browser cache and was able to log back in.Very happy to hear it!My apologies for assuming I'd been unjustly banned.
Gladly accepted.
Is there any chance someone from Seagate can comment on what the status of this issue is? Doesn't your license with Rebit address the issue of significant software defects?
Well, I don't have a ton of training on Replica, but you might take a look at this recent thread.
I haven't heard of any fixes for this yet, sorry. If the Tech Support agent told you what you cited earlier, I don't unfortunately have anything to add to that at this time.

I have the exact same issue with my Replica 250GB. To Seagate and/or the moderator of this forum:
Is there any software fix being developed?
If not, is there a refund policy in progress? [Edited per the community rules and regulations.], and it would address the damage this product has now caused to my attitude toward Seagate.

As someone said... just format the drive and use either Window backup or any other free backup program like Freebyte (manual backups) or Comodo backup (automation available).
It's just an external drive to the PC. The software is "coded" to fine a Seagte external drive or not work.
Oh, yes, the software it doesn't work right it seems.
Vista or Win7 can save an 'image" to the external, as long as you have the space.

Well, I for one am just angry to find that the product I bought and what I got are not the same! I didn't know where else to vent except here. I'm not interested in going through a bunch of nonsense to have this thing work correctly! You're supposed to be able to plug it in and "RELAX" (as it says on the box). Well, I'm not relaxed! The product is not as advertised. Isn't that illegal?
