I bought a brand new STBV4000200 4tb Expansion today and when plugging it in to windows it doesn't show up as a drive, but if I got ot disk management I see a 297.97GB unallocated disc.
I have tried this on 2 desktops running win7 home premium 64 bit and 1 laptop running win7 home premium 32 bit. The one desktop had usb3 but the other desktop and laptop only usb 2.
I can't try another usb cable as I don't have another like it.
I've run the Seagate diagnostic on it and a short DST fails:
Short DST - Started 18/08/2013 14:43:19
Short DST - FAIL 18/08/2013 14:43:21
SeaTools Test Code: 9CD398ED
Screenshot from disk management and device manager:
Is this a dud and I just need to return it or is there something I can do ?
