Says backup failed because files not supported? Maxtor OneTouch 4

I just backed up my hard drive onto my OneTouch 4 for the first time, and although all the files *seem* to be on the external hard-drive, Maxtor Manager is saying the backup failed and that every single file in my Personal Folder was "Not Supported/File skipped (backup of hidden files and folders is not supported)" according to the backup log. I have it set to back up all file types. I just want to be sure something isn't wrong... I'm going to be buying a new computer and I want to make sure all these files are safe and intact. Thank you!

AllenM,

I tried to follow the thread you suggested but alas it was a circle.

Here are some more resources:

Basically speaking, your backup parameters are too general.

And you can verify the files are where they're supposed to be by navigating into your ext HD via My Computer and trying to open your files and folders that are backed up inside the ext HD.  Does that make sense?
