I purchased a couple of Seagate external drives to use for backup purposes. The Seagate dashboard installs and the memeo instant version worked fine for the first thirty days, now the Memeo says that I need to purchase the software. It runs and reaches a point then says pending and keeps doing this. Is the instant version like the one on the Goflex versions - free - or is this something that Seagate is shipping software that must be purchased to used the drive as a backup. I know I can manually drag and drop files and similarly copy items to the drive but it seems like at a minimum the no frills version included with the product would work otherwise why include it in the Seagate dashboard....

The Instant Backup version of the utility is indeed the free one.
To set this up, please uninstall the Premium Backup, then install the Instant one.
