Hello Seagate community,
I guess i'll get to the crunch of the problems,
I have a Seagate 1tb Expansion Portable Drive which i run on Windows 7, it has had the software installed and removed twice, gives me the "Scan and fix" or "Click to continue" options when i plug it in to my laptop. As a whole the device works properlly, i can still access the files, as far as im aware i can copy most folders out of it. However, the only file which is of great concern is the one which i contain all my university work on. I tried to copy that particular folder onto a USB stick so i had multiple copies after hearing stories of people losing months of work due to a malfunction. Now i'm a little worried that i cannot back up my uni work. As stated, the files are still able to be read, i just can't copy that particular folder onto my laptop or to a USB which is quite concerning!
Anyone able to give pointers? I've flicked through other forum problems but none seem to be this specific.
Cheers,
Shane

Well i also forgot to mention i have done the "scan and fix" took nearly 2hours but was completed, also tried opening up setup again incase there was an option there which may have seemed relevent. However, the setup has just become a white screen waiting to load. I keep my laptop free of programs and unimportant files etc, i use my external for major storage to make sure it's not being bogged down by much other than the bare programs i need for Uni. There is no performance issue that i can think of or logically point a finger or fault at.

Would you let me know the exact message you get when you try transferring the data to the external drive? What types of files make up your school work? Are you able to save that same data to another external drive without problems, then from there to another device?
