Hi my brand new External Expansion drive has stopped working after I have just moved everything across from my computer to format it. It worked at first then I plugged it on and it had a faint beeping sound and the green light was on but nothing, now it makes a loud beeping clocking noise and sounds like its trying to start up with the green light but that's all it doesn't show up anywhere on my computer and I don't know what to do please help!!!

Here is a link to our external troubleshooter. If none of the steps help, we would recommend that you take the drive back to the place of purchase since it was recently purchased.

I have a seagate 1tb expansion,it was working fine an then it dropped by mistake. When I plugged it back in, the LED light came on as normal, and it also hums normally as it should with no clicking or anyother noises,but my computer doesn't pick it up, neither does any other computer i plug it into. I tried the Seagate diagnostic tools but even that cant pick up that the external is plugged in or that it is even there. HELP please I dont know what to do.

Is the drive detected in Disk Management? Have you tried connecting it to another computer? You can also take a look at our external drive troubleshooter to see if it helps:
