Seagate ST3000XS on Windows 7

Hi

I've been using a 500GB Seagate ST3000XS external firewire drive for the last 12 months on Windows Vista without a problem, I've just upgraded to Windows 7 and now the drive cannot be detected, I've backed up all my documents on this drive and powered it off during the Windows 7 install so they were safe, but now I cannot get access !!! are there any drivers for this drive on Windows 7 ? I  cannot find anything on the Seagate site for this drive.

Thanks.

Re: Seagate ST3000XS on Windows 7

Is it FireWire, or is it eSATA?  I thought a drive model with the suffix "XS" was eSATA. Please confirm.

On this page, which one is it?

Re: Seagate ST3000XS on Windows 7

Hi

The drive is ST3500601XS-RK, it is indeed an eSATA, I thought it was firewire, just downloaded the drivers from the link you provided for the eSATA card and the drive is now recognised by Windows 7.

Thanks for your help, I was really struggling to find the drivers !

Paul.

(Struggling against expressing my surprise...)

I'm very glad that it worked.  Thanks for reporting back on the fix!
