Share OneTouch 4 Plus between Mac OS X and Windows XP?

Is it possible to share a OneTouch 4 Plus between Mac OS X and Windows XP? I want the entire contents to be visible between both computers.

I plan to use the Firewire port in both cases, but I doubt that matters. I do not need to be able to boot either computer the Mac from the OneTouch 4 Plus; it would be nice to be able to boot one computer or both, but I'll give that up to be able to share content easily between the two computers.

If I can't share a single partition between Mac OS X and Windows XP, should I make two partitions so I can have some external space for the Mac and some for the Windows PC?

Thanks!

If you want to share data go with FAT32, you can both read and write in Mac and Windows. You can't boot to Mac though. You can also partion the drive to HFS+ (native Mac format) and NTFS (more recent and secure Windows format). Hope that helps...

[ Edited ]
I just installed a Maxtor OneTouch 4Plus (firewire) to my mac mini which already had a One Touch III USB2.0 attached. The new firewire unit was to become the new storage for iTunes and photos AFTER the stuff from the USB unit was moved over, but after installation of the new unit, the old unit has become unrecognizable and when it's attached it causes the computer to crash and forces a restart. Any idea how to go back to pre 4Plus installation to get my stuff out of "jail" and solve the crashing problem? Also, the MaxtorIII is not visible to my Windows XP laptop.
