Technical Assistance completely fails

I protected my drive with the Drivepass when copying files from the old computer. Now, on a new one I don't have Maxtor Manager. I wish I knew that I would need it when setting the password. Seems that many any facing the same problem. Isn't it a time for Seagate to consider adjusting the product to meet customers' demands.

However, the issue is that even after submitting several requests for Maxtor Manager I never got any replies from the Technical Assistance. What is the value of portable drive if you need several days to start using it (I am not sure several days will be enough). I've heard that here are some guys, who may help to facilitate the process with Technical Assistance. Please, do so if you can.

Thanks!

That's one of those  DUH...
If you password protect your drive.  It is not even recognized by any PC.
You must have Maxtor Manager installed to have the "please enter password" box come up.
The software in on the external..

Try....
