Were you ever able to find a solution to this problem? I am encountering the exact same issue. Thanks!

Yes, checked the article, but when uninstalling per the instructions, I never received the option to reset. I was just notified that the computer needed a restart and that was that. My new machine is Windows 7 home premium 64 bit OS. Currently very frustrated that I cannot back up my new machine--and I cannot use my old machine to delete the files from the replica because I no longer own it. Please help! Thanks!

I was facing exactly the same problem today and was surprised that no one had a solution on this forum. This is what I did to solve my problem (try it at your own risk but it worked for me!) This procedure assumes you have already copied all the backup data from your Replica.
First, reformat the entire Replica disk using Partition Wizard or some similar program.
Next download the Replica software from the Software Download Page.
Unpack this zip file into the root folder of the Replica
Finally, run the setup.exe program from the Replica disk. It should now work like new.
Hope this helps!

I, too, encountered this problem. The drive was taken away from one computer and I wanted to use it on another. I had uninstalled the software and couldn't reinstall it because the replica drive was too full.
I figured that since I couldn't browse for the replica files that they were hidden. The drive space is being taken up by these files but you can't locate them without some digging.
In the Windows Disk Manager I had assigned the drive letter R: to my replica drive. If you decide to go the route I did, replace R: with your drive letter.
Open Explorer to your replica drive
Change the path you see in the address bar to r:\rebit\data
You will see two folders: cfs and db
Delete both folders, which will delete all of their contents - this may take a while
Once this is done you can go to the properties of the drive and find that the drive is nearly empty - only the factory-installed files are there, including the replica installer
Reinstall replica
Once the installation is complete and replica starts backing up, go to the little app icon, right click, choose More > Remove a PC... and make sure that the old PC name is truly gone. If it isn't, select to remove it.
You should be in good shape.
