delete historical files

I have just purchased a 500gb onetouch4 and backed up my files, it seems when you delete files from original location, the backup file appears with an X against it. how do you delete these historical backups, otherwise eventually the external drive will fill up. I cannot find any information in the manual or maybe I'm stupid.

Re: delete historical files

i think you can go in the drive in windows explorer and see folders that have like (2) and (3) and stuff, maybe in a historical backups folder or something like that, if memory serves
yuo can then delete those folders

-if you didn't back up your junk, you didn't need it after your drive crashed

Re: delete historical files

Thanks, but if I delete files, will this put my backup out of sinc with original?.....Why is none of this in the manual...... How do I start a completely new backup and how do I delete old backup, to save space.... this is so frustrating, I am thinking of taking onetouch4 back to the store, there are so many problems, the manual is useless...
