drives not there...

show why dosent this show up in my computer when it connected.. i mean i cant see it anywhere... went to disk management and the drive is nameless in the volume section. i can tell its the hard drive to the the free space yet i cant rename it or change the driver letter or paths...i can also see its connected since i can safely remove it since it comes up as external if thats is its name...

What file system is listed for the drive in Disk Management? Is it NTFS or RAW? Does the drive contain data that you need or do you have a backup?
