today my hard drive stopped working. The white light on the drive doesn't light up when you turn it on, and the green light on the power box blinks when the switch is turned on. and when its off it is a solid green. Therefore its not recognised on my computer. checked all the leads are secure and plugged in correctly. There are no noises coming from it. Totally dead.Any suggestions please.
Assuming the power is OK, then, if your data are important, you will need to remove the drive from the enclosure and connect it directly to your motherboard. This will normally void your warranty, so you may like to check with Seagate Tech Support before you go ahead.
