hi, i got the 250 gig expansion. i downloaded the seagate disc wizard to copy everything on my computer. However when it gets to step 4 (the longest step where it downloads the main body) it gets to about 64%, then the computer goes into hybernate for some reason. After that i cannot continue the process. when i got to look at it on my computer it only reads as 20 gigs which was the smaller amount from step 3 of the copy. what should i do?

Run SeaTools for Windows on the drive to check for bad sectors first.  

 Then run checkdisk on the drive.  

Let us know what they find.

Could you be more specific, i'm not very tech savy. I ran the SMART check and short DST on seatools and nothing was wrong. what else did you want me to try?

Thanks, i got the whole thing to copy correctly. (idk how, but it worked). 

Is it possible to install a game on the external and play it on my laptop of the external drive? I tried it with my one game and it wouldn't work, is it different from game to game?

Whether you can load computer games and software to the external drive depends on the software and the games. Some will allow it, some won't. Something like World of Warcraft, that shouldn't be a problem. Something that is drawing a lot of data off of the external drive will mean that the USB interface, which isn't very fast, and that means that many games will not perform well if they are installed on the drive.
