Samsung Story Station 3.0 HX-DT020E shows CRC failure

I'm using this drive for about 8 Months without problems. This morning Win 7 said there is a CRC failure and I have to format the drive(!). Additionally the drive makes a strange noise as if trying to find a sector and then stopped. The original name is still shown in the property menu.

 

Tried the following:

 

1. Changed the USB cable.

2. Connected it to a different PC (XP)

3. Took a look at the drive with a Recovery Tool. It only shows the last written folder and also shows the exact storage amount.

 

The drive did not fall down and wasn't even moved since the last use (yesterday). I am really broke if all the files are gone. Please help!
