Failure to initialize Hard Drive

Hi there,

Just got a Samsung HD103UJ Spinpoint F1 1TB Internal. Wired it up and turned on my pc.

Windows found it, installed drivers. It doesnt show up in my computer so i went to Disk management and it gives me the message "you must initialize a disk before Logical Disk manager can access it" Select Disks, so i choose my new disk.

It then gives me the option to choose partition style so i leave MBR Checked and hit ok.

The Comuter thinks for a minute and then says "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error."

i did then try the other partition option but same thing happened, I've checked bios and its there but i cant really adjust anything to accomodate it so now i am stuck.

If anyone has any advice it would be much, much appreciated, thanks hope to hear back soon!

Re: Failure to initialize Hard Drive

You simply initilize it and then format it NTFS, assigning a drive letter can help as well, you want it to become a basic disk in disk management, hth.
