Hi, My HD103SJ is acting a little crazy lately, I get some I/O errors in some applications and in Windows Event viewer I can see a lot of HDD-related errors for this particular disc.
[
Does it look healthy?
I will give it a full format soon to see if that stops the errors. And I will be reinstalling Windows on a different drive.
My questions are:
1) Does it look okay from the SMART values?
2) What tools should I use for formatting?Samsung? Seagate? Windows?
3) What tools should I use for diagnostic? Samsung? Seagate?
Thanks

No it isn't healthy, a format won't sort it either, you need ESTools for dos and do a low level format on it, you are down to 33% so it will be touch and go tbh, I got one back from 69% to full heath before though.

Thanks for the reply Cantbecanit,
How did you calculate the 33% figure?
Is it from the pending sector count?
Thankfully I have a new OS drive coming soon so I can do a low-level format on this one and then see if it continues to get worse. It has been freezing lately and giving some I/O errors when trying to read some files.
Thanks again

I actually mistook the temperature reading as it's health %, if you put HD Sentinal or HD Tune on it will show you a % of health remaining.
